What I Say About Them
What more can I say about this Bronx group but they captured my attention from the first note and stole my heart. I really like "I love thee". So interesting. At first I was not sure but the more the songs played the more I was captivated by the lyrics and the music. They has such a cool twist to their music, sometimes sounding like an old recording from the 40's and sometimes very modern.
What They Say About Them
A chorus of Boris the Bassoons stars on the title track of "Inheritance," the second album from Bronx-via-Wisconsin couple Spark & Echo. The epic journey continues through cowboy songs, Shakespearian ballads, Spanish-speaking accordions, ukulele grooves and electro-beats from Grandma's organ. Joined by co-producers Jay and Alexander Foote (Welcome Wagon), Jonathon & Emily invite you to explore the sounds and images that make up their lives in their converted piano-factory loft in the South Bronx. Nostalgia reigns on this quirky and beautiful collection recorded on Jonathon's childhood baby grand piano, with five songs written to honor friends or family that have shaped them. For fans of Rufus Wainwright, The Civil Wars, Sufjan Stevens, Leonard Cohen, Derek Webb.
